Not sure whats happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Urban Gypsy gets. Urban Gypsy stated simply is one of Marc Antoines best CDs to date.
Unfortunately, its not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just cant force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Urban Gypsy. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.
These days its a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.
Overall Urban Gypsy is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Jazz collection. Truly an outstanding Jazz CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.
While this entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 2 - Quand Le Jazz Hip-Hop, track 10 - Paris Jam, and track 12 - Storytime.
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - Latin Quarter. This is a great track!

How to become a medical assistant is a question anyone interested in medical assisting needs to ask considering all the healthcare offers found out there. Training is key to fulfilling the dream of a career in the medical assistant field. It is a popular choice for many people who want to earn a good salary while helping people to get well. It is not practically impossible to get a doctor assistant's position without training as you can learn on the job but these chances are pretty rare.
Most training is carried out in colleges that are approved by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Some schools including private ones offer training online and some are recognized by the AAMA. Learning online is not for everyone as there will a lack of a practical setting to observe the tasks being taught though it is not impossible to learn online. It may be ideal for people already working in a medical setting. Previous volunteer work in hospitals may be very useful in this regard.
The training usually lasts one year (for a diploma) and covers in general these areas: physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, transcription, recordkeeping, typing, accounting, and even insurance processing. They also study medical law, relations with patients, medical administration and principles of pharmacy and other courses central to a medical career. At the end of the training, students take exams and have to undergo a practical internship to complete the training successfully.
You can choose any of the many positions within the medical field like radiology assistant, emergency medical technician, or physician assistant, physical therapy assistant, medical examiner assistant.
The American Association of Medical Assistants is the most well known certification body. There are other certifying bodies; find out which ones are in your area. Certification means that one is competent and has more credibility and so increases the chances of employment. The employment chances of medical assistants will grow 35% more than other occupations in 2007-2016 so the chances of employment are very good. With experience and more training you can advance to other jobs in the medical field. You can retrain to be a clinical officer or go to university and specialize in a particular field.
Medical assistants are a very important part of the medical field because without them doctors would be overworked and would have little time to dedicate to managing the health of their clients. They have to do research to help them in diagnosis and sometime have to travel to more than one place to see patients. Without medical assistants this would not be possible.

In this guitar lesson you will learn to play the Christmas song Deck The Halls with the help of guitar tablature notation. I will also explain how to read this easy form of guitar notation!
Guitar tablature notation consists of six horizontal lines representing the six strings of the guitar. The top line of the tablature represents the string with the highest pitch.
Let us take a look at a guitar tablature staff:
1. ----------------
2. ----------------
3. ----------------
4. ----------------
5. ----------------
6. ----------------
On these lines you will find numbers representing the frets to press down. Let's start with the first line of the lyrics and corresponding guitar tabs:
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
1. --------------------------------------
2. ---3---1---0---------------0-------
3. ---------------2---0---2-------0---
4. --------------------------------------
5. --------------------------------------
6. --------------------------------------
The number 3 on the second string means that you press down the third fret on the second string and play the note with your right hand.
Let us continue:
1. -------------------------------------------
2. -------0---1-------0---------------------
3. ---2-----------2-------2---0-------0---

Emo music, a rock music variation that is characterized by less guitar chaos and more melodic overtones has created subculture that is a curiously different even among its adherents. A product of the DC area in the 1990s, but with an Austin Texas and Seattle Washington influences, emo (which stands for emotional hardcore) has spawned a new wave of musical disciples mostly in the teen and lower 30s age-group and fueled by music from such entities as One Last Wish, Embrace and Fire Party.
The emo/indie culture, has gathered certain stereotypes in its wake. Remember when Tower Records was a hub for indie and altenative rock music gatherings? Emo music started off with many unsigned artists and Tower Record stores used to be the vortex of indie/emo culture and emo adherents could be easily identified there by their gothic persona.
Chalk-white faces, hair, nails and clothes completely black and Celtic jewelry was and still is the emo signature appearance. Some emo fans also dye their hair into other colors such as blue, green yellow and even red but there is always an aspect of black.
Teens who have embraced the emo subculture can be seen widely spotting fashions that can be linked to the 1950s rock era; ragged tight jeans, black t-shirts with "tattoo" designs and even black suits in some instances. Most emo adherents also spot crosses from the medieval era, mostly Celtic in addition to body piercing in odd places.
Emo teens have raised a furor among conservatives. The emo subculture, which is inherently gothic, has not been received well by a myriad of parents and political groups within the school districts and other academic communities. This gothic persona has been associated with social detachment, school violence, drugs, a record suicide rate, poor grades and even occult practices. In the movies "The Craft" and "The Blair Witch Project" the actors can be seen spotting emo/gothic garments and the lead players radiate a gothic presence.
The rock star, Kurt Cobain, who was idolized by many emo teens, committed suicide on April 5, 1994, after a troubled life and a fight with drugs. Another rock star, Marilyn Manson, portrays a gothic image in many of his public appearances and his lyrics, which have called for suicide and murder, have sparked many protests among conservatives in every field. Perhaps a curious twist is the association of emo and gothic music with vampires. Most vampire movies portray the vampires in emo/gothic clothing and emo music has been heard to lace many a vampire movie.
The emo culture is also closely associated with the punk-rock movement which is rampant in the US and Europe and which has also rapidly spread throughout the rest of the world. Fans can be seen spotting tattoos, body-piecing on the tongue, navel, and eye-brow area and even on their nostrils. Hair is particularly dyed to attract attention. Glues are applied to hold it up and in then 80s the Mohawk style was widely worn by teen punk-rockers.
Traditionally, punk-rockers have not been associated with acts of lawlessness or other criminal acts but in some European countries such as Germany and Russia, punk-rockers have been linked to supremacist groups which have ran afoul of the law after attacking or defaming members of other races.
Let's take an in-depth look at some different music producer information. A music producer is also known as a record producer. They have various job functions to perform, such as focusing on the recording sessions helping the musicians organizing and scheduling the promotions, productions, and the budget.
They also supervise the initial recording of songs, along with any mixing and mastering the process. The music producer also helps create, and make the music the best it can be and make sure it flows into the albums vision or designs. They are also responsible for the paid technicians, musicians, and can even choose music for an entire album.
The pay of the music producer changed rapidly after the first independent producer came along in the mid 1950s. Then the studios, which allowed people to come in and pay for an hour or two of time, caused even more change. Many of these were former record company employees.
Since the role of the music producer changed, so did their influence on the music industry, singers and songwriters as well. There are many famous music producers known today such as Don Kirshner, Mickie Most, Rick Rubin, RZA, Dr. Dre and Timbaland. Those are only a few of them and there are even hundreds more out there.
The salary of a music producer can vary depending on where they work, what clients they represent, and their location. The amount of time they have spent in the business also plays an important role on the salary as well. Once you have considered these parts in then you have to look at their education level as well and what schools they attended.
Some music producers only get around 20 thousand a year while others can make up to and more than 1 million a year. This can almost be compared to one single hit versus to a hundred chart topping singles and albums.
Deciding to or focusing on the music industry is a life altering experience and can be the difference between living well off for the rest of your life to barely making it or worse yet not making it at all. I hope this music producer information has been helpful.
If you have the desire in you to become a music producer then you owe it to yourself to check out the free music producer course video ready for you to watch at Ryan's website. For more great music producer information check out http://www.squidoo.com/music-producer-course/
For the beginner in piano music, what do all those foreign words and strange symbols mean on your sheet music? And does it matter?
Ritardando? Da Capo al Coda? Acciaccatura?
People from earliest times decorated their bodies and their dwellings, and worked designs on their implements in order to make them more attractive to use or just for pleasure in their leisure time. We still have the same desires today.
So too, throughout the ages, ornamentation has played an important part in increasing our enjoyment in listening to music in its many forms. Decorations for melodies have been found way back in Gregorian music (c. 540 - c. 604 AD) and in the music of the Middle Ages (500 - 1450 AD). Ornaments were prominent in keyboard music in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries and further embellishments, not written on the scores, were no doubt added by the singers.
If you aim for excellence in your piano music, being able to understand musical terms, symbols and ornaments will help you to follow written music more accurately, play with correct timing and expression, and add attractive ornamentation. This will bring an entirely new dimension to your music!
So what do all those Italian words and symbols mean? Let's look at a few examples!
Musical Terms
Musical terms tell you all about the speed, loudness and other qualities of your music.
For example, 'Ritardando' tells the musician to play this section gradually slower and slower. 'Ritardando' may be abbreviated as 'ritard.' or 'rit.'. It is an Italian term derived from the word meaning 'to retard'.
Musical Symbols
Musical symbols tell you everything you need to know about written music from the staff itself to accents, repeats and pedal signs. For example, a common symbol seen on popular piano music is the Coda symbol. This symbol, along with the words, 'Da Capo al Coda', tells you when to play the various parts of your song.
'Da Capo al Coda' is normally abbreviated as 'D.C. al Coda'. This Italian phrase means literally, 'From the beginning (or head) to the tail'.
A section of music at the end of the score will be marked with the word 'CODA'. There will also be two places in the music marked with Coda symbols, each shaped like an oval with a '+' written over it.
When you reach the words, 'D.C. al Coda', in the music, return to the beginning of the music and play through until you reach the first Coda symbol along with the words, 'To Coda'. Jump from that place in the music directly to the section at the end of the score marked with 'CODA' and the second Coda symbol. Continue playing to the end of this section.
Ornaments
Ornaments are attractive decorations for your music.
For example, the 'Acciaccatura' or 'crushing note' is a very short accented note, played just before (or sometimes simultaneously with) the main note and instantly released. It is written as a miniature quaver note with a short oblique line through the hook of the quaver.
'Acciaccatura' is an Italian expression meaning 'a crushing'. It makes a pretty decoration in a melody.

Imagine this
You pick up the guitar one day. Start playing your favourite
song, and all of a sudden you feel this pain in your wrist.
It's a sort of pain that distracts you from your playing.
You think to yourself "I'll toughen it out it'll probably go
away tomorrow", and continue to play some more. You continue
to play like this day to day, and then you notice that the
pain keeps getting worse. You wonder to yourself "Will this
pain ever go away? I hope so." The problem is, this might
not be just a pain that will go away. It might be a pain
that will cause serious injuries such as tendonitis.
Tendonitis is a serious injury that causes inflammation of a
tendon. When you over stretch your tendons it begins to tear
which leads to swelling. This is very dangerous because
tendons are hard to heal, and will unlikely heal to the
original strength. A lot of times this pain is caused
by not stretching before you play. Stretching plays a big
role in guitar playing. When you stretch your hands,
fingers, wrists, and arms you widen the range of motion of
your joints. Which will also enable you to play more
effortlessly, and faster. When you play without stretching
you have limited joint movement. Which means that your hands
and wrists won't be as flexible as if you were to stretch
before playing.
Here are a few stretches that you can do before you play:
*Place the palm of your left hand to the inside of your
fingers on your right hand. Push with your left hand so your
fingers are going towards your forearms until you feel a
burn in the wrist. Hold for 10-15 seconds. Now do the
other hand. You can also do each finger individually.
*Extend your left arm fully across your chest, and with
your other arm pull your left arm towards your chest. Hold
for 10-15 seconds.
*With your left palm push the inside of your thumb towards
your forearm, hold for 10 seconds.
*Extend your arm behind your shoulder by holding your elbow
with your other hand. Pull until you feel a burn. Hold for
10-15 seconds for each arm.
*Thoroughly massage your hands and fingers individually.
This is a crucial step. This will really relax your hands.
Not only should you stretch just before you play the
guitar, but also any other time you get the chance. Guitar
is not the only place that you can get an injury such
as tendonitis. You can get it from exercise or physical
work. Always stretch before doing a lot of movement that's
involved in working and exercising. If you start to feel
pain, STOP PLAYING. This is a danger sign to a minor or
serious injury. Just give it a rest, and if the pain
continues consult a doctor. Remember, it's all about having
fun.

It follows from the above that angular cheilitis and how it is treated depends on the cause. If it is vitamin deficiency, for instance, then vitamin rich diet and vitamin supplements could solve the problem. If you are not sure what is causing your cracked lips, it might help to consult with a dermatologist who can arrive at the correct diagnosis especially if your cheilitis seems persistent.
That aside, there are lots of ways you can treat angular cheilitis. Here is a quick look at some of the most common causes for angular cheilitis and how it is treated. If you still need to visit a doctor after you read this, at least you will have a good idea what he is talking about!
When The Cause Of Angular Cheilitis Is A Yeast Infection At The Outside Corners Of Your Mouth
Candida yeast infection is a common cause for angular cheilitis. How is it treated? Most topical antifungal steroid medications contain nystatin, an antifungal and triamcinolone acetoide, which is the steroid component. These topical creams reduce the fungal infection and relieves the inflammation, itching and rawness. However, such creams must be used with great caution since the cracked lips are a sensitive area. Ingesting these creams can have its specific set of side effects.
When Angular Cheilitis Is Because Of Badly Fitting Dentures
If your dentures don't fit well, bacteria can lodge in them and cause cheilitis. In addition to soaking dentures overnight in antiseptic solution, also consult your dentist who can help by adjusting the dentures and getting them to fit well.
When Angular Cheilitis Is A Result Of Cracked Lips
Quite a few young children develop chapped or cracked lips. Drinking a lot of water can help, along with application of Vaseline or lip balm on the lips.
When Angular Cheilitis Is Due To A Bacterial Infection
Bacterial infections around the mouth require the application of antibiotic and antifungal creams.
If the blisters or cracked lips are around for a long time you tend to develop low immunity, leading to further health problems. In such cases the doctor can help by advising you to take vitamin supplements and strengthening your immune system.
Angular Cheilitis is a painful, annoying problem. If you are suffering from chapped or cracked lips, there are natural supplements that can help. Act now, and don't let cheilosis affect another minute of your life.
This article takes a look at musicians' injuries. For an expert perspective, I interviewed Dr. Sarah Mickeler, B.Mus., D.C. Dr. Mickeler is a former professional musician and a chiropractor who concentrates on musicians' injuries in her practice.
1) What led you to specialize in musicians' injuries?
I have a very personal connection to musician's injuries. I had trained as a classical clarinet player and it was during my undergrad that I started to have all sorts of problems from playing too much and with poor posture. Unfortunately, I was told, as many others are, that I should just play through the pain and that maybe it would get better! Of course, it didn't, and it eventually led to the demise of my career as a clarinetist, because I was totally unable to hold up my instrument. So, I decided to pick a new career that would help others musicians - and hopefully before they got to the point that I was at! Chiropractic appealed to me because of the whole health care paradigm that it embodies - as chiropractors, we diagnose and fix the cause, rather than masking the symptoms.
2) What is different about treating musicians than treating the general population?
Often, what I tell people who don't understand the specifics of musicians' injuries, is that "it takes one to know one". As a musician, it can be very difficult to explain to a physician or physiotherapist or even another chiropractor what the mechanics look like when you are playing your instrument. But when someone comes into my office and says that they play flute, or guitar, or tuba, or whatever, I know exactly what the physical component of playing their instrument involves. That is a very important first step.
Secondly, not only do you have to be able to have a good understanding of what playing that instrument involves, but you have to be able to see that person play. Even if someone tells me they play violin (I automatically think: "ok, so they will be leaning their head to the left and have right shoulder problems, etc..."), I am often shocked to see how over the years of playing they have contorted themselves into a little pretzel while they play!
So, on the first or second visit, all of my musicians bring in their instruments and I do a thorough playing analysis to see what it is that they're doing right and wrong. It could be that their posture is contributing to their injury. Or maybe there's something about the instrument that we could change; it might just need a minor adjustment in the thumb rest or a key positioning.
For instance, I have very small hands and found it difficult to reach some of the alternate fingering keys on my clarinet - so I had them sawed off and re-soldered on in a different direction so I could reach them.
Thirdly, it is important to recognize that there are some really common reasons for performance injuries. The most common ones are a change in repertoire, a change in the instrument (such as a new mouthpiece or something similar), a change in practice time or an upcoming recital. If we can pinpoint what it is that the performer has been doing differently lately to contribute to their injury, that helps immensely.
And lastly, it is so important to realize, especially for freelance artists, that you can't just tell them to take a muscle relaxant, and take a few weeks off. If these people took a few weeks off, they wouldn't have a roof over their head or food on the table. While it's occasionally absolutely imperative that a break be taken, most of the time I take a holistic approach to treating performers and change and fix what we can, within the obvious limitations of current gigs and upcoming events.
3) What's the most common injury that you see in your office?
In my office, there is a tie for the most common injury. The first is upper back/shoulder/neck pain - I lump these together because those terms can mean the same thing to a lot of people - often someone will come in and say that their shoulder hurts and point to the pain, but to me what they're pointing to is actually their upper back or lower neck. This one is often a function of poor posture or poor practice ergonomics. If we can figure out how to improve the overall posture and ergonomic situation then this tends to resolve quickly.
And the second most common injury is hand and arm pain. You would not believe how many people walk into my office with numb and tingly hands and fingers - which can be very scary if you're the one to experience it - to find out that the problem isn't actually their hands and fingers at all, but it's a little further up the arm and can be quite easily treated once properly diagnosed. Or they come in with tennis elbow - but they have never held a tennis racket in their life! In my office, I call tennis and golfer's elbow "musician's elbow" because it is a repetitive strain injury. It is really, really common and surprisingly easy to treat.
4) What can musicians do to prevent injury?
First of all, don't be a hero! There is just no reason to practice for hours on end without a break. Always remember to take a little break for every 30 minutes that you are playing. Secondly, don't play through pain. The pain signal is there to tell you that you are doing something wrong. Playing through it is not going to get you anywhere - other than in more pain and in worse shape down the road. Thirdly, be aware of your ergonomics. If you sit to play, does your chair fit you properly? In rehearsal, do you have to strain at all to see both the stand and the conductor? Are your arms contorted oddly in order to be able to play properly? This is not good. And lastly, seek the help of a professional who can not only help you with the injuries that you are currently dealing with, but can help you avoid future injury and optimize your overall performance.
You can find out more about Dr. Sarah Mickeler and her Toronto-based chiropractic practice concentrating on musicians' injuries at http://www.drsarah.ca.
To echo Sarah's advice, please pay attention to any pain signals your body is sending you! Admitting you're having a physical problem doesn't make you any less of a musician it means you're a very smart musician with years of playing ahead of you!!

My entire life I have been a huge Jimi Hendrix fan. I never imagined being able to manipulate a guitar as magnificently as the master. Eventually I had enough motivation to pick up the instrument that always put me in the right mood, I fell in love! I was going to learn to play guitar.
I wanted to do something special when asking my girlfriend to marry me. She always appreciated artistic endeavors so I decided to write her a song. After the first few attempts I acknowledged I was up against a bigger challenge than I initially expected. I wasn't expecting to learn and master the guitar...so I decided to search the internet to find some comprehensible method to teach me. After wading through multiple bogus promises and false advertisements I stumbled upon a gem. A report that actually taught me play the guitar, overnight! It was awesome. It explained everything from how to hold the guitar properly to to finger and hand positioning. I was able to read guitar tablature after reading this single report.
I also was able to play the riff from 'smoke on the water' in a matter of minutes!
After practicing various songs I was able to create my own 'masterpiece.' As it turned out, it worked! She said yes and I figured I may pass it along to any other individuals who have dreamed of playing the guitar yet lacked confidence. It can come to fruition. It can happen and I strongly recommend trying!
Good Luck!

When downloading or looking for music, it's easy to find a site that will download songs and movies, but unfortunately not all of them have the selection you want. You can just point and click to get whatever you want, and not worry if something is in, and not worry about individual costs. Some companies let you download individual songs, but the cost and selection is annoying, or on the other hand, pay a flat fee, but never be able to keep the songs, and once again their selection is a bit of a pain.
There are a couple of steps that you need to take to make sure that you have an easy experience. Make sure you have the room on your hard drive for the movies and the music. A big complaint with the normal download sites are that lack of selection, and your media player has a large problem with the navigation, and it can be hard to find everything. You won't have to worry about that again, find your music, listen to whatever you'd like. In your folders, make sure that you create separate names and separate folders so managing your music and movies would be a lot easier. Find your movies and your TV shows as well, with the same ease as the music.
The navigation is very simple, and you shouldn't have a problem with it at all. It's all broken down, and is very user friendly. Enjoy the new interface, and enjoy the availability of the new music, and the classics.
